Murder Conspiracy Unravels: Accused Couple Confronted During Police Interrogation in Pune Fort Killing
Police investigations into the murder of businessman Ketan Agarwal at Lohagad Fort have uncovered an alleged conspiracy involving his fiancée Siya Goyal and her lover Chetan Chaudhary. Authorities claim the accused plotted the killing, made a failed earlier attempt, and later pushed Ketan into a gorge, leading to his death months before his scheduled wedding.
According to officials, the two accused were made to sit face-to-face during an intensive round of questioning after being remanded to seven days of police custody. Investigators questioned them until late into the night as they continued to probe the circumstances surrounding the killing.
The investigation has established that Siya Goyal was simultaneously involved in a relationship with Chetan Chaudhary, whom she met during a business meeting last year. While Siya operated a bakery, Chetan managed a dry fruit business. Their relationship reportedly began in November 2025, even as preparations for Siya’s marriage to Ketan Agarwal were progressing with the approval and involvement of both families.
Police said Chetan was unhappy with Siya’s relationship with Ketan and viewed him as an obstacle. Investigators allege that the two subsequently conspired to eliminate him.
As part of the ongoing probe, Pune Police have detained a man identified as Neeraj Kumar, an employee at Chetan’s business establishment, for questioning regarding his alleged connection to the case. Police sources stated that Chetan had taken Neeraj’s mobile phone to Lohagad Fort on June 18, the day of the crime. Investigators suspect he may have used the device to communicate with Siya multiple times. Neeraj Kumar had reportedly been working with Chetan for the past three years.
The case revolves around the death of Ketan Agarwal, the son of a prominent Maharashtra businessman. Ketan and Siya announced their engagement in February, and an extravagant wedding involving private aircraft and palace venues had been scheduled for November.
Investigators have uncovered a series of events leading up to the murder. Days before the killing, Ketan and Siya were scheduled to travel to Bali for a pre-wedding photoshoot. However, the trip was cancelled after Ketan discovered that his passport was missing upon arriving at Mumbai airport. The deceased’s father has alleged that Siya deliberately hid the passport to sabotage the trip.
Police further revealed that Siya allegedly made an earlier attempt to kill Ketan at Lohagad Fort on June 14. During that visit, she reportedly pushed him near a cliff, but he managed to save himself by grabbing a bush on the hillside. Investigators claim that Siya then created a diversion by shouting about a supposed snake sighting before embracing him in an apparent effort to conceal the attempt.
According to the police investigation, Siya later persuaded Ketan to return to Lohagad Fort under the pretext of a casual outing. This time, she allegedly coordinated with Chetan, who arrived at the location. Investigators allege that the pair pushed Ketan from behind into a deep gorge, resulting in his death.
The case has drawn widespread attention due to the alleged premeditated nature of the crime, the involvement of a planned marriage, and the disturbing sequence of events that investigators say culminated in the murder of a young businessman just months before his wedding.
